Treat yourself to an expertly crafted cocktail and some indulgent sushi in the heart of Lincoln. Our chefs take a modern approach to authentic Japanese flavour profiles, offering a sophisticated twist on the traditionally informal ‘izakaya’ dining experience.

Japanese Cuisine
A taste of Japan in Lincoln
While our signature dishes are full meals, most of our menu is made for sharing. We encourage guests to experiment with a range of different plates, and we recommend selecting two or three dishes per person.
Pick and choose from a varied food menu of sashimi, uramaki, nigiri, tempura, gyoza, and more. Round off your meal with a decadent dessert and an apéritif.
No under 18’s allowed after 9pm on weekends and rooftop 6pm (weekends only).

Tucked away up a couple of flights of stairs, just off Lincoln high street, is one of the city’s best kept secrets: the rooftop bar.
With its retractable roof, our terrace provides the perfect setting for a romantic date night or a catch-up with friends, whatever the weather. Browse our extensive drinks menu of signature cocktails and tried-and-tested classics while taking in the view of Lincoln’s iconic skyline. Cognito provides the perfect atmosphere for a dinner date, an indulgent lunch break, or just a few drinks with friends. Sink into one of our cosy booths while you sample some sushi, or take a seat at the bar with a cocktail. Our mixologists serve up drinks to suit all tastes. Whether you’re after something flamboyant or something without the smoke and mirrors, our bar staff work with a broad range of quality spirits to quench your thirst.

THE BAR
The Cognito bar plays host to a live DJ set every Friday and Saturday night from 8pm ‘til late. The perfect start (or end!) to your weekend nights out in Lincoln.
private hire & events
We offer the option of hiring the venue exclusively and can host up to 100 guests.
We also have the option of hiring different parts of the venue including our bar/lounge area, the Rooftop Bar and the option of the entire venue.
We can accommodate drinks receptions, private dining, business events and standing parties. Our events team are on hand to provide an event that suits your requirements and provide entertainment if required.

What to expect at Cognito
We welcome walk-ins, but we recommend booking in advance to guarantee your table, especially for larger parties. Please let us know of any dietary requirements when booking. For groups of eight or more, our chefs require a pre-order three days prior to your reservation.
From 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays, our resident DJ will be playing. This means that the music will be louder than usual. Please bear this in mind when making a booking on weekend evenings.
